A Summer on the Campsite | M6 | 66 minutes
This summer, millions of French people will hit the roads for a vacation on… a campsite. One French person in three goes camping! So, in order to meet the demand, the hexagon has no less than 9000 campsites. Whether it’s in a tent, a caravan or a mobile home, there’s something for every pocket and every taste. Whether on a human scale or in some gigantic aquatic Park, camping is modernizing into a form of holiday club. We accompany a family of holidaymakers who have chosen a small campsite, which they find more convivial. Establishments managed for the most part by couples that have given up everything to move into the open-air hotel business. It’s a massive challenge! How do you make a success of the summer season? How do you win the loyalty of holidaymakers? How can you make the difference in a region like the South East where campsites crowd the coast? Camping is also a way for young people to take a vacation without breaking the bank. Over recent years the Atlantic coast has seen the upsurge of vast campsites with aquatic parks. Their managers are gambling everything on non-stop, day and night entertainment. We go to meet a group of friends who have pitched their tent. How do they arrange things so as not to go over budget? Holiday romance, hoots of laughter… We share their daily lives.
