DIANA CONFIDENTIAL | M6 | Zone Interdite
On the 25th anniversary of her date with death on a summer night along the banks of the Seine, is there anything more to discover about Diana? The essential, which is to say: the intimate.
Using audio recordings and revelations broadcast for the first time on French television, our 90’ documentary probes the deeper motives of the “People’s Princess” and, in the age of #Metoo, revisits the quest for freedom of a young woman battling the establishment, patriarchy and lies.
Was Diana mad – or unbalanced – as her enemies sought to portray her? Or were her bulimia, depression, suicide attempts and bravado above all the expression of her gigantic struggle to overcome a cheating marriage or the numerous difficulties of an existence that was gilded in appearance, but actually much darker?
Created using statements from some of her closest companions, our film is based upon the intimate confessions of Diana whose most striking scenes and revelations we replay with a bilingual actress.
