Emergency calls I | TF1 | Appels d'urgence
This program on localities around France, conceived by journalist-cameramen, underlines the activities of the men and women who put their lives into danger in order to save other lives: the emergency workers. Doctors, fire fighters, veterinarians, police, hospital emergency personnel, mountain rescue teams, lifeguards, rescuers at sea, all these anonymous people are the true heroes of daily life. A dozen stories, each five or six minutes long, reveal the human dimension of each intervention but include the aspect of prevention and education. Powerful images, moving and informative. In the first part, a woman firefighter helps a young mother in Lyon to have her baby. In the sea passage around the island of Ouessant, the Abeille Flandre tug goes off in the middle of a storm to help a trawler in trouble. The CRS (anti-riot police) and the Anti-Crime Squad (BAC) of the Paris suburb of Evry halt a gang war. In Paris, a veterinarian saves at the same time an anorexic baby tiger and a puppy which swallowed some toxic products. In the town of Tourcoing, firemen from several different fire stations fight against a giant fire. At the Grand-Motte, the local armed police have a lot to handle during the summer holidays. And in Lyon, the gendarmes are in a race against the clock to get back a baby in a stolen car.
