They are 130 in France, 19 in Bordeaux… From 26 to 46 years, men only.They do their job hooded. They represent the elite of the police force and they train like high level athletes, in order to carry out the most delicate arrests, the most dangerous missions.In Bordeaux, their main actions are related to the fight against the ETA terrorism and against the narcotics traffics.Our crew shared their everyday life during 4 months and tried to understand the motivations of these men, who risk their life for less than 2000 euros per month…Are they the muscle-men of the police force? Or desperados?Can one each day put on a commando dress and take an assault rifle without, in the end, resembling his own caricature?Portrait of an unforeseen group, confronted with daily violence, from the more banal to the most extreme one, a group welded by the danger, the fear of death and the self derision…Portrait of engaged, discrete men, who juggle with the family life and the secrecy required by their job.
