They dedicate their lives to animals. In France and around the world, we propose to follow their hectic daily life … These are veterinarians ! In France, more than one in two households has a pet: a record among European countries. Alongside these passionate professionals, we will enter the doors of natural reserves and special care facilities in order to attend sensitive interventions where every bit counts and where time is pecious. Then embark on an extraordinary journey to rescue endangered species or to follow exeptionnal transfers ! Meet these masters that dedicate themselves to the well- being of their faithful companions … “ER Vets ” moments of tension , complicity , emotion , tenderness and adventure. And always spectacular images to serve great stories ! For this first edition, W9 offers a unique immersion in Frégis, near Paris, in the oldest animal hospital of France. Emergency doctors but also New Pets” specialists, they are almost 17 000 to have chosen the challenging but exciting job of veterinarian. To take care of our faithful companions, ultra modern clinics over-equipped have emerged : sanitized operating rooms, scanners… Just as human clinics ! Indeed, owners are able to spend a fortune to save those they consider as a family member in its own right. Alongside these professionals, find Claire, receiving a cat aged 3 and its masters. Distraught because their pet has just made a vertiginous fall, the animal arrives at the clinic in shock. Cyril, a specialist in surgery will be having the life of a young Chihuahua between his hands. He has a serious birth defect which must be operated urgently. Minh is a also a vet, but the NPs (New Pets) are his specialty. He will save a turtle, severely bitten by a dog and a movie star : a steppe eagle. The raptor has seriously injured paws and can not participate in any shoot anymore. We must act quickly! Finally, Guillaume too will have to manage a delicate situation : save a dog from put down, while its masters do not afford the treatment. The veterinarian will make all the efforts to save the animal and minimize the costs. What are the risks faced daily by veterinarians ? What happens when masters do not have the resources to fund operations ? How do these professionals manage the concerns of masters ?”
