Into the Heart of the Capital | TF1 | Appels d'urgence
Every year, Paris, the prime tourist destination in the world, receives 30 million visitors, either French or foreign. Nearly 40,000 police officers are responsible for their safety. Nevertheless, this does not prevent certain criminals from making the capital their hunting ground: snatch and grab, sexual assault, pickpocketing in the Metro or even gang warfare. Crime doesn’t take a vacation in summer and neither do the police. Our crews accompanied five specialist squads from the Police Department, who unceasingly hunt for these criminals. Their daily routine: chases, hold-ups, brawls, violent arrests. A gripping experience that reveals another aspect of Paris, far removed from that of the postcards and in particular one sequence of high tension on the eve of the 14th of July when a gang of youths have no hesitation in attacking the forces of law and order with firework mortars.
