Kenya : Killer road | M6 | Les Chemins de l'Impossible
This documentary focuses on the daily life of the only road which supplies Africa of the Great Lakes from the port of Mombassa to Kenya. We follow route 109, essential to the life of millions of Africans, by filming those who must take it daily. Besides its importance to commerce, the corridor” as it is called locally, also allows transport of food to the populations who suffer from the war and from famine in South Sudan, in Kivu to the east of the Congo and in the north of Tanzania. But this indispensable highway, used by thousands of trucks, is unfortunately in a deplorable state due to lack of means, bad weather and poor upkeep. As a result, this road which extends more than 1500 kilometers is called the “Killer Road”, the most dangerous in all of Africa.”
