LEA MARMIGNON : THE MURDERER LIVED UNDER THEIR ROOF | Enquêtes criminelles | W9

Alain and Marie-Christine Marmignon have been foster parents for many years. Thanks to them, many children and teenagers have been able to aspire to a better life. But their generosity is about to prove fatal… On May 21, 2018, Léa, their two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter, was found naked in a stream, very close to her grandparents’ house. She had been stabbed 22 times. The toddler was playing in the garden when she escaped her grandfather’s surveillance and found herself trapped by a predator.

It was the height of horror for the Marmignon family. The girl’s murderer was living under their roof. It was Florian, a 14-year-old teenager placed in their home. Arrested a few hours later after fleeing the scene, the young boy soon confessed to the unthinkable: that day, he had sexually abused the little girl before pushing her into the creek.

For Alain and Marie-Christine, the shock was immense. They have just lost their granddaughter, and feel guilty for having welcomed the man responsible for her death into their own home. But they are also angry because they had noticed Florian’s dangerousness and tried to alert social services. To no avail.

Sentenced to eight years in prison, Florian was released in October 2024 after just six years and four months. A further ordeal for Léa’s family, who now live in fear. The young man is said to have promised revenge. Alain and Marie-Christine fear that he may return and commit a new crime…
