12 million French people are thought to be living in insecurity? Of those, 3 million are in receipt of the SMIC minimum wage of 1,096 Euros per month, which is barely more than the 964 Euros that are considered to be the poverty line. For them, staying within the budget is a constant battle. Food, clothing, entertainment… with a mere 1,000 Euros per month, every expense must be closely considered.
