MADE IN FRANCE, THE MOST “FROGGY” OF FAIRS ! | M6 | 66 minutes
French expertise takes pride of place at the Porte de Versailles in Paris. A few weeks before Christmas, the Made in France Fair attracts 80,000 visitors. All have come to buy French and support French flag businesses. Gastronomy, life-style, decoration, innovation, etc. It’s a real 4-day marathon for the 570 exhibitors here to promote their products. Seven years ago, there were only 70 of them for the first fair. Made in France is now an unexpected commercial phenomenon. Amongst the exhibitors, some are prepared to battle multinationals in highly competitive markets such as textiles and jeans manufacture. People like Thomas Huriez, 38, who founded the 1083 brand. But there are also inventors who put their money on quality, an example of French imagination, not to say audacity. For example, Genevieve has developed a decorative object that could improve your daily well-being. Or there’s Valerie, Mathieu and Marie, hoping to bring dreams to tiny tots with their story box: their gamble on redeployment.
