Scores settled one after another, beatings, trafficking of every description. To put an end to the climate of violence that regularly splashes Marseille over the front pages, three new police units have been created. Their mission: win back the territory, fight the petty crime that is a blight on the daily lives of the citizens. These three units are especially designed to tackle the different types of crime that are rotting the city: a team of in-the-field investigators is now fighting the dealers who are trying to establish themselves down town. A mobile, rapid-response bike patrol is hunting down assault and snatch-and-grab offenders. And lastly, a specially trained unit of quasi-urban guerrillas is taking the fight to criminals in the most sensitive housing developments in order to reestablish order there. For three months, our reporters were the first to follow these units. The result: an exceptional documentary shot right at the heart of the fight against crime.
