Road safety: the victims’ struggle | M6 | Zone Interdite
On January 15 2006, Isabelle Piccioto, aged 48 was hit by a hit-and-run driver in the Place de la Nation, in Paris. The mother of three was seriously injured and her long-term life prognosis was cautious. She also suffered from amnesia. Five months after the accident, her family allowed reporters to film her convalescence. For more than two years they followed operation after operation, re-educational sessions, abrupt changes of humour, setbacks as well as small victories. They also followed the investigators whose job was to trace the person resonsible for the accident.
