At the beginning of May, in Valenton, in the Marne Valley, as folks are bringing their weekend to a close, the body of a young woman is found, bound hand and foot, in the trunk of her car. The victim, 23-year-old Sandra, a student, has been missing for three days. For her family and friends it’s total bewilderment. The case is handed over to the Paris crime squad. On the day she disappeared, Sandra was on an internship with an SME and was supposed to be researching different prices in the supermarkets in the Essonne then returning to university in Creteil, where she is studying for a Masters. She had sent several SMS to her sister, of which the last, at noon, announced she was on her way back to the university along the A6 highway. Those were the last news of Sandra. Who could have wished harm to Sandra Bignet? The young woman lived with her mother and sister in the Mont-Mesly neighbourhood in Creteil. She was considered to be serious with no previous history.
