Every summer, thousands of rich Russians spend their vacations on the Côte d’Azur. Some have invested in palatial villas between Nice and Cannes. We were able to penetrate this secret world, where the Russians live and have fun amongst themselves, far from the tourists of the Riviera. Our crews filmed lavish parties, to which only wealthy Russians are invited, like the party to launch a tequila, organised by the Moscow branch of a major French alcohol producer, and, above all, the Flower Ball. Andrei Fomine organised the chicest parties in Moscow. Every summer he organises the prestigious Flower Ball in the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. A magnificent palace surrounded by gardens and overlooking the Mediterranean, where rich industrialists, come especially from Russia, merchant bankers and actresses in the most beautiful clothes, throng together. For a display of ephemeral fashion, Tatiana, a Russian designer, makes dresses from fresh flowers?at 5,000 euros a time. Amongst the guests, we followed Victoria, a former Miss Russia, who is staying in a palace in Monaco, and Svetlana, owner of a luxury clothing chain in Russia, married to a rich business man who bought a luxury villa on the coast. Who are these Russians who invest on the Côte d’Azur? Who pays for these prestigious parties?
