The new face of insecurity | TF1 | Le Droit de savoir
In France today, insecurity is increasingly affecting more and more people and standards of living are falling for many. Housing, a job, feeding oneself?these have all become increasingly worrying complications for many French people. It’s not a new phenomenon, but it’s getting worse year by year. One person in eight is currently on the poverty threshold, with only 810 per month.Three classes are particularly affected by insecurity: single-parent families, retired people and 18 to 24 year-olds. They live on pensions, retirement benefit, family benefits or poverty level wages earned from a few hours work per week. They are the first victims of the rise in prices (housing, food, fuel, etc.), impotent victims who find it more and more difficult to face everyday life, victims who feel excluded, forgotten, many of whom plunge into depression. Amongst those most affected by increasingly harsh conditions, there are many single women with children.
