THE SANDWICH POPES | M6 | 66 minutes

A nice baguette, cut in half, with a good filling… There’s nothing simpler and more satisfying to make than a sandwich… At least on the surface! Today, there are true sandwich specialists, some of whom have even turned sandwiches into exceptional dishes! So much so, that on May 16, in front of Notre-Dame-de-Paris cathedral, the very first national competition for the best sandwich will be held! 15 candidates, all from different regions, will have to make 3 sandwiches: one vegetarian, one fish and one meat!

Maxime is one of them. Along with his brother Baptiste, who is competing for the best baguette, Maxime is about to enter the best sandwich competition. Only problem: he doesn’t really know how to make bread… and his brother Baptiste is the expert. So the two brothers help each other to win the title.

Lucy will be one of only two female contestants. But being almost the only woman among the 14 other candidates doesn’t scare her… Quite the contrary! “It motivates me! If I can get the first winner to be a woman, that would be wonderful”. And to help her win, she’s come up with a recipe that’s astonishing to say the least… mixing sweet and savoury!

The candidates’ creations will be judged on taste, visual appeal and originality. So, who will be the big winner of the very first national competition ?
