The number of divorces amongst the over 60s¾in more than 60% of cases, initiated by the wife¾has doubled in thirty years. How do you explain this phenomenon? With the emancipation of women, longer life expectancy and better health, senior citizens don’t hesitate to break up. Whether the decision is forced or welcome, how do these seniors rebuild their new lives? To answer this question we went to meet some of them. Find new love? For some, divorce at retirement age can mean a second youth. Increasing numbers are signing up for online dating services in the hope of finding love once more. Since 2006 the number of marriages between people over 60 has increased by 18.5%.
