The loss of independence experienced by the aged is often hard to manage for their children, whether from an emotional, organizational or financial point of view. It’s rare for children to agree to house their parents, either through lack of space or desire. Today, France has nearly 1.2 million aged dependents and estimates now suggest that there will be nearly 2 million by 2040. How do you live with the feeling of guilt from putting your mother or father into a home? Where do you find a structure that meets their demands and the means to pay for it?
